Jon Koenigs

Jon Koenigs was named head coach of the UW-River Falls women's tennis program in the summer of 2024 and completed his second season at the helm in 2025-26. Under his leadership, the Falcons posted seven wins in each of his first two seasons, matching the program's highest single-season win total since 2009-10.

A tennis teaching professional with more than 20 years of experience, Koenigs is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Professional 1 and United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) High Performance Coach. He serves as Head Tennis Professional at PublicIndoorTennis.com, overseeing adult and junior programming that serves more than 200 players each week.

Koenigs has also worked with Team USA, coaching top junior players from the USTA Northern Section. In addition, he is a co-owner of Lightning Tennis Camps, where he travels throughout rural Minnesota helping develop players while building relationships with high school coaches and administrators.

A 1997 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, Koenigs was an All-Conference men's tennis player for the Gusties.
