Katelyn Nichols

Katelyn Nichols, a UW-River Falls alumna, joined the Falcon Volleyball coaching staff prior to the 2026 season.

She returns to River Falls after spending the 2025 season as a graduate assistant coach at Iowa Lakes Community College and as a head coach for SoDak Juniors Volleyball Club. Nichols began her collegiate playing career at NCAA Division II Southwest Minnesota State University, where she competed for three seasons before transferring to UWRF in 2023. As a Mustang, Nichols led the team with 112 total blocks in 2021.

Nichols made an immediate impact during her senior season with the Falcons, starting all 30 matches and leading the team with 105 blocks. She helped guide UWRF to a 20-10 record, including an 8-2 mark at Page Arena, two victories over nationally ranked opponents, and a berth in the WIAC Tournament Semifinals.

In addition to her collegiate playing and coaching experience, Nichols has coached club volleyball throughout her career.
