Trent Jackson was hired as UWRF's Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications in August of 2021. In his role, he serves as the primary media contact and oversees all publicity for each of UWRF's athletic programs. In addition, Jackson manages uwrfsports.com, social media, statistics, records, and internal and external communications.

Jackson came to River Falls after two years as the Sports Information Director at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Under his tenure, he publicized and promoted a plethora of Wartburg conference championship teams and All-Americans, eight College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, and a men's outdoor track & field national championship in 2021. At Wartburg, he served as the media relations host for three NCAA Division III Regional Championships.

Prior to Wartburg, he spent the 2018-19 academic year at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., serving as an assistant in the athletic communications office. At WMU, he was responsible for the daily communications operations of several of the school's 16 sports. Jackson became familiar with Division III athletics at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minn., spending two years as the assistant sports information director while earning a master's degree in sport management at Minnesota State University, Mankato. 

A native of Chaska, Minn., Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from Bemidji State University in 2016, where he was involved in the athletic media relations department as a student assistant. He is an active member of College Sports Communicators (CSC), in which he has been nationally recognized by his peers for his creative design work in 2023, and overseeing nominations for many Falcons awarded to CSC's Academic All-District Team. In 2022, Callie Hoff became the first UWRF women's hockey player to be named an Academic All-American. Jackson and his wife, Emily, reside in River Falls.
