Aaron Anderson (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater HS) scored a season high 18 points to help lead the Falcon men's basketball team to a 76-56 win at Southwestern, Texas, on Friday afternoon.
Jontae Koonkaew (Apple Valley, MN, Apple Valley HS) and
Jake Voeltz (River Falls, River Falls HS) also scored in double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively. Koonkaew had a career-high seven steals.
UWRF had a 35-21 lead at the half. Southwestern had a 13-12 lead with 11:45 to play in the first half. But the Falcons went on a 13-0 run to take a 25-13 lead with 8:04 to play. Southwestern cut the lead to nine points (30-21) with 3:54 to go, but the Falcons scored the last five points of the half to take the 35-21 lead into the locker room. Anderson hit a three and

Anderson scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half. He was 4-5 from behind the arc to lead the Falcon offensive attack. Koonkaew added eight first half points.
The Falcons led by at least 20 points for most of the second half. The largest Falcon lead was 26 points, 53-27, with 13:21 to play.
Zach Peterson (Circle Pines, MN, Centennial) hit a lay up to give the Falcons their biggest lead. After that the closest Southwestern got was 16 points three times. The last time came with 5:02 to play, 67-51.
Voeltz led the Falcons with seven rebounds and
Brian Kimble (Stevenson Ranch, CA, Coll. of Canyons JC), who scored four points and tied for the team lead with four assists, had six rebounds. He had five steals. Voeltz also had four assists.
The Falcons had a 39-30 advantage in rebounds.
Southwestern was led by Logan Hurley who scored 17 points.
The Falcons, now 4-1 overall, will play at St. Thomas,Texas, Universityon Saturday with tip off set for 3 p.m.
