No. 2 Falcons Draw Stalemate in OT

Falcons outshoot St. Norbert 44 to 19 but only land one goal

For the second straight night, both teams failed to score in the first period. In the second, Kayleigh Bell (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater HS) scored an unassisted goal to break the 0-0 tie, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead 7:44 into the middle period.

St. Norbert answered in the third, 2:31 into the frame, Henriette Ostergaard slipped the tying goal past Falcon goal tender Ashley Kuechle (Saskatoon, SASK, Battleford Sharks). The goal forced overtime where neither team scored. The Falcons outshot the Green Knights 4-1 in the period.

Goals were hard to come by for the Falcons, but shots were not. They outshot the Green Knights 44 to 15 in 65:00 of play. Kuechle took the decision in the contest and is now 2-0-1 on the season. She stopped 14 of 15 shots in the decision.

The tie extends the Falcons unbeaten to 14 consecutive.

Up next, the Falcons will start a four-game NCHA home stand. They open a two-game set with St. Scholastica next Friday night at Hunt Arena. Puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
