The Falcons came out of the gates strong. Emma Nordness (Excelsior, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's HS) tallied the game's first shot and goal at 19:36. Jessica Thompson (Shoreview, MN, Mounds View HS)assisted on the Nordness' fourth goal of the season. Three Pointer penalties gave the Falcons three power play attempts. On the final power play, Jamie Briski (Chisholm, MN, Hibbing-Chisholm HS) tallied her fourth goal of the season to extend the Falcon lead to 2-0. Kayleigh Bell (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater HS) and Michelle Anez (Little Falls, MN, Alexandria HS) each assisted on Briski's goal.

Dana Carothers cut the Falcon lead in half with an unassisted power play goal late in the second period at 17:11. The Falcons shut down the other two Pointer power play attempts in the period.

In the third, both teams combined for five goals. The Pointers rallied to start the period scoring and tying the game at 2-2 0:30 into the period. The Falcons responed with two goals. The first of the two came from Thompson at 4:00. It was her third goal of the season. The second goal game on the power play from Bailey Vikstrom (Burnsville, MN, Burnsville HS), her first of the season, at 5:14.  After a Pointer goal at 14:16 that made it 4-3, Bell tallied the Falcons fifth goal of the game, her fouth of the season at 16:46.

Campbell knocked down 16 of 19 Pointer shots in 59:39, improving to 6-0-0 on the season.

The Falcons outshot the Pointers 45 to 19 and coverted 3 of 7 power plays. The Pointers capitalized only 1 of 3.

Tomorrow, the Falcons look to continue their winning ways with the finale of the two-game-set. Action is set to get underway at 3:05 pm at Hunt Arena.
