Soccer Falls In 1-0 Heartbreaker to Macalester

In a game where defense prevailed and the scoring was limited, the Falcon soccer team fell 1-0 to Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.

Despite being held to only five shots on the goal for the entire game, the Falcons were able to stay with the undefeated Scots.  Alex Swatloski (Green Bay, WI, East) led the Falcons with two shots on goal.  Carlin Bunting (Cottage Grove, MN, Hastings), Janae Baron (Hermantown, MN, Hermantown) and Hanna Danke (River Falls, WI, River Falls) had one shot on goal each.

The Falcon defense kept UWRF in the game by limiting Macalester to nine shots throughout the match.

A little over four minutes into the second half, Maggie Molter scored what proved to be the game winner on a header off a corner kick from Izzi Speer.

River Falls had only one corner kick compared to Macalester's eight.
