Box Score

The Falcon women's soccer team was held scoreless for the second straight game as they were defeated, 1-0, by Augsburg College on Monday afternoon at Ramer Field.

Both teams played a very defensive in a game that was very much dictated by a strong wind.

Augsburg's Bri Clark would score her fifth goal of the season and the only goal of the game at 3:47 in the first half. The goal was assisted by Brooke Vroman and Molly Allen and gave the Auggies a 1-0 early and was enough to seal the victory.

For the Falcons, Anna Kouba (Lino Lakes, MN, Centennial) and Janae Baron (Hermantown, MN, Hermantown) lead the team in shots with two a piece. As UWRF scrambled for a goal in the final minutes, it was Hanna Danke's (River Falls, WI, River Falls) front-flip throw-ins that gave the Falcons a few last second chances, but they couldn't beat the Augsburg defense.

Falcon goalie Becca Kramer (St. Michael, MN, St. Michael-Albertville) had three saves in the game. Auggie goalie, Lexi Felix, had two saves.

Augsburg outshot UWRF, 5-2, in the first half and 8-7 overall. UWRF outshot the Auggies 5-3 in the second half.

"It is always fun playing Augsburg, but chasing one goal for almost the whole game made this one difficult," said Falcon Head Coach Sean McKuras, "It's a lot more fun when we win so will be looking for a rebound win against Platteville on Saturday."

The Falcons fall to 4-4-1 with the loss and the Auggies improve to 6-3 with the win.

UWRF will return to Ramer Field on Saturday, September 29 for Homecoming as they take on Platteville in a WIAC matchup at 2p.m.
