Box Score The Falcon soccer team has had several tight matches against St. Scholastica, and Wednesday's match was the same as the Saints earned a 2-0 win over UWRF at Ramer Field.
The Falcons controlled play in several instances throughout the match, but couldn't find the back of the net in a game played in a fine mist and fog. CSS holds a slight 5-4-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams.
CSS, which has now won 14 straight games, scored single goals in both halfs to get the win. Kelsey Kehtel scored both goals - the first in the 29th minute and the second in the 57th minutes. The first came off a corner kick and the second was a header off a pass from the left side.
Alex Swatloski and
Missy Barnett each had two shots with both of Swatloski's on goal.
Holly Lindboe also had a shot on goal for UWRF.
Becca Kramer had five saves in the match and CSS goal keeper, Kelsey Reeves, stopped all three Falcon shots.
UWRF, now 6-10-1 overall and 2-4-1 in WIAC play, will travel to UW-La Crosse on Saturday for a big conference match up. The two teams are tied for sixth place in thee WIAC standings and the winner wil get the last conference tournament playoff spot. The last game of the regular season will start at 5 p.m.
