Box Score The UW-River Falls women's hockey team fell 2-1 this evening to the UW-Stevens Point Pointers at Stevens Point.
It only took UWSP 3:25 into the game to score their first goal.
Kait Mason scored her second goal of the season to tie the game up in the second period. She scored the goal at 2:19 into the period and was assisted by
Brianna Breiland.
With the game tied and just over one minute left in the game the Pointers scored the game winning goal when Emily Lester found the back of the net.
UWRF dominated the game as far as shots on goal go. The Falcons had 33 total shots compared to just 13 for the Pointers. Mason,
Brook Story, and
Leah Gefroh each had five shots on goal.
Both teams had five penalties for ten minutes. Neither team capitalized on the power play opportunities. Â
Gillian McDonald played in net for UWRF recording 11 saves.
The Falcons fall to 2-2 on the season and are now 0-1 in WIAC play. They will play at Stevens Point again tomorrow afternoon with the drop of the puck set for 2:30 p.m.Â
