Chloe Kinsel scored a goal and an assist in the UW-River Falls Falcon women's hockey teams 2-2 tie at home against UW-Superior.

Neither team got on the board in the first period. Ashley Kuechle played in net for UWRF recording 16 saves. Shanley Peters started as goalie for UWS and had a strong game stopping 41 shots.

Kerry Mayhew scored the games first goal at 3:11 assisted by Haley Olmstead and Hailey Adair on a power play.

Paige Johnson scored a power play goal at 10:46 of the second period. She was assisted by Kinsel on the goal.

UWS struck again at 4:47 of the third period on an Adair goal.

Kinsel tied the game up when she lit the lamp at 14:51 of the third period. Allie Olson and Brook Story were credited with assists on the play.

Neither team would be able to break the tie the rest of the period or in overtime. UWRF recorded 43 shots compared to just 18 for UWS.

After the tie Superior is 5-2-3 on the season and UWRF is 6-3-1 overall on the season. The Falcons will play again at home Wednesday hosting Gustavus Adolphus College with the drop of the puck set for 7:05 p.m.
