Alex Swatloski scored two goals this evening as the UW-River Falls Falcons topped Buena Vista University 4-0 to improve to 8-4-2 on the season.
UWRF started the game out on the attack firing shots but it was not until
Kenzie Weisman hit Kayla Windingstag with a cross pass at 23:59 of the first half. Windingstad now has three goals on the season. Not long after at 28:27 Swatloski fired in a goal from just slightly outside the center box with
Missy Barnett getting an assist on the play.
The Falcons poured in 16 shots in the first period and did not allow a single one from Buena Vista.
In the second period Swatloski scored her tenth goal of the season off a deflection. The ten goals currently puts her at first in the WIAC for total goals scored pending what happens in the UW-Whitewater game this evening.
At 68:05
Tessa Quintavalle and
Erika Doimer each got assists on a
Carrie Anderson goal in front of the net for her third of the season.
Emily Hancock came in at goalie early in the game and got a big save late in the game when she dove over to the near side of the net and knocked the ball away. That shot was the only one on goal for BVU while UWRF had 13 with 25 total compared to three by Buena Vista.
The Falcons will continue WIAC play at home Saturday against UW-Platteville for their Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Game with game time set for 5 p.m.
