In an evenly matched game the UW-River Falls Falcons tied the St. Olaf College Oles 1-1 with both goals coming in the first half.
Erica Cimochowski opened up the half with two quick saves. She finished the game with four saves.
At 31:58 of the first half STO broke the tie when Emily Helle scored off an assist by Bret Mann.
Late in the first half the Falcons tied things up when Abby Solderholm weaved through traffic and found the back of the net for her seventh goal of the season off an assist by
Megan Haninger.
Despite three shots on goal the Falcons could not break the tie in second half. STO goalie Lindsay Dolan finished with five saves in the game.
As the half was ending both
Jenna Marier and
Alex Swatloski had close attepts to score but the Oles were able to hold them off to bring it into overtime. There was only one shot on goal in both overtimes.
The Falcons are now 9-4-2 overall on the season will end their season with three big WIAC games. They head to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday with the game set to start at 2 p.m.
