Box Score Alex Swatloski scored two goals as the UW-River Falls Falcons (4-2) topped the University of Minnesota-Morris (1-4) 2-0 to extend their win streak to four games.
The Falcons looked to be in control the majority of the game attempting 19 total shots with 11 on goal while UMM attempted just four shots with two goal, both of which were saved by
Erica Cimochowski.
The first UWRF goal came on a counter attack when Swatloski burned passed the defender and found the back of the net.
Kayla Windingstad and
Jenna Marier were both credited with an assist on the score.
Later in the half at 31:58, Swatloski went on the attack again after taking a pass from
Kaitlyn Logan and scoring her fifth goal of the season.
UMM had a chance to pull within one in the middle of the second half but Cimochowski dove across the net to grab the save.
Swatloski had a couple of opportunities at the hat trick in the second half but Tori Jordan played strong in net for UMM recording nine saves in the game.
UWRF will open up WIAC play next Saturday when they host UW-La Crosse with the game set to start at 4 p.m.
