Soccer Battles In Tie With St. Thomas

Box Score

The UW-River Falls Falcons took on the University of Saint Thomas this evening and extended their unbeaten streak to six after finishing in a 0-0 tie. The Falcons are now 4-2-2 overall on the season.

"It was a great game is back and forth. Both teams had some good opportunites," Said Falcon Coach Sean McKuras

Both teams put four shots on goal in the game. Just 2:24 into the game UST took a shot just off the crossbar. Alex Swatloski took the Falcons only shot on goal at 32:06 but Tarryn Theilig was able to record her first of four savves.

Abby Soderholm attempted the first of UWRF's three second half shot on goals but none found the back of the net.

After neither team attempted a shot in the first overtime UST had two opportunites in the second half of overtime but Erica Cimochowski was able to save both to secure the tie. Cimochowski recorded four saves in the game.

UWRF continues its four game road stretch on Saturday at UW-Whitewater with the game set to start at 4 p.m.

"I'm proud of these young women. We are now in the middle of six games unbeaten and we continue to find ways to get results," McKuras said.
