Box Score River Falls, WI. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of UW-Superior Saturday as the Falcons picked up a 3-1 victory over the visiting Yellowjackets. The win moved the Falcons to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Dani Buehrer notched the first goal of the afternoon at the 7:51 mark in the first period.
Carly Moran tallied the assist on the shot that Buehrer knocked past Yellowjacket goaltender Natasha Singer as the Falcons jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

Second period action saw UWRF widen their lead. Just over 10 minutes into the second stanza, freshman
Jessie Andersen scored off the assist from fellow Falcons
Jillayne Gilbert and
Kayla Oberding. Three minutes later, senior
Chloe Kinsel tallied her 13
th goal of the season off the assist from Oberding and
Paige Johnson. Kinsel's goal pushed the Falcons to a 3-0 lead and they wouldn't look back for the rest of the afternoon. Kinsel's goal marked her 69
th career goal as a Falcon, tying her with Kait Mason for the school career goal record.

Superior managed their only goal of the day at the 19:33 mark of the second period. Yellowjacket Mikayla Goodin scored the only point for the visitors as the final score stood at 3-1.

UWRF goaltender
Angie Hall stopped 25 shots in the contest. The Falcons racked up 26 shots against the Yellowjackets. UWRF held a 34-24 edge on faceoffs.
