Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's soccer team loses close 1-0 match against nonconference foe Hamline University Wednesday night at Smith Stadium.
The first half of the match was a quiet one for both teams with no goals being allowed. The Pipers outshot the Falcons 4-2 but junior keeper
Erica Cimochowski stayed strong in goal having one save.
The momentum picked up in the second half when the only goal of the game came at 59:17 when Hamline forward Malya Hirshkowitz scored off a penalty kick. The Flacons would battle back, but it was not enough to surpass the Pipers. The Pipers outshot the Falcons in the second half 7-4.
Cimochowski took the loss for the Falcons giving up one goal in 90 minutes of play. She finished the night with two saves.
Abby Soderholm and
Carrie Anderson would lead the Falcon's in shots having two each.
Kayla Windingstad and
Caroline Meier would each have one shot.
The Falcons now 1-1 on the season will travel to Superior next Wednesday to take on the Yellowjackets of UW-Superior. Start of the match will be 5 p.m.
