Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team pulled off a late period scoring rally to defeat the Saints of the College of St. Scholastica 7-5 Tuesday night at Hunt Arena.
The first period was a slow start of the Falcons as they allowed the Saints to score the first goal of the night at 17:28. The Falcons outshot the Saints 13-8.
In second period, the Falcons got on the board first after
Amy Auran got one past the Saint goaltender. Her goal tied the game at 1-1. At 13:13,
Dani Sibley was called for checking and the Saints were given a power play opportunity. Five seconds into the power play Saints player Denisa Lalikova scored and gave the Saints a 2-1 advantage. One minute later the Saints scored again increasing their lead to 3-1.
Dani Sibley scored on the power play with 47 seconds remaining in the second period getting the Falcons within one point as they headed into the period break.
It was a quick start to the third period with
Chloe Kinsel tying it up 3-3 with a goal 46 seconds in. The Saints came back right away taking back the lead 4-3. At 3:10 a penalty was called on the Saints for tripping and the Falcons capitalized on the power play at 4:29 tying the game up at 4-4 on a goal by
Carly Moran. Two minutes later,
Haley Nielsen got a pass from
Carly Moran that she was able to put in the back of the net to put the Falcons up 5-4.
Amy Auran scored her second goal of the game at 10:19 to give the Falcons a two point lead. The Saints scored one more goal in the third to give them five goals. In the final seconds, Moran scored the final goal of the night and her second goal to give the Falcons a 7-5 win.

Angie Hall got the win. She had 23 saves and allowed five goals. The Falcons outshot the Saints 40-28.
The Falcons now 12-2-1 will be back in action Wednesday night as they host the College of St. Benedictine. Puck drops at 7:05 at Hunt Arena.
