Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com)- It turned out to be a big night for the UW-River Falls women's hockey team and more specifically head coach

Joe Cranston notched his 300
th career victory in an 11-1 drubbing of the College of St. Benedict Blazers. The 300
th victory comes in Cranston's 15
th year as head coach of the UW-River Falls women's hockey team.

The Falcons hosted the Blazers from the College of St. Benedict, and scored 10 of their 11 goals in the first and third periods en route to a convincing 11-1 victory. The convincing victory now puts the Falcons' record at 13-2-1.

UWRF came out firing in the first period, as the Falcons scored four goals in the opening period. The first goal of the night came only 1:40 in the first period, and it came from the Falcons' third leading goal scorer forward
Dani Sibley. UWRF was just heating up.

Just over two minutes later the Falcons buried their second goal of the game. Fellow forward
Carly Moran scored a goal of her own on a two-part assist from
Chloe Kinsel and
Carina Randazzo. The Falcons were only halfway done scoring goals in the first period. 11 minutes after
Carly Moran scored her first goal of the game, she buried her second goal of the game to put the Falcons up 3-0 late in the opening period.

Just over two minutes later, forward
Karleigh Wolkerstorfer capped off the scoring in the first period for UWRF for her sixth goal of the season. The goal put the Falcons up 4-0 late in the first period.

It was not all offense in the first period for the Falcons. UWRF allowed only six shots on goal in the first period and goaltender
Angie Hall stopped all six of the shots she faced.

The second period did not have quite as much offense as the first period. There were only a combined two goals between the Falcons and the Blazers. Just over five minutes into the second period, St. Benedict scored a goal to make the score 4-1. The Falcons would squash whatever momentum the Blazers had when
Dani Sibley buried her second goal of the game to, once again, give the Falcons a four-goal lead.

When the second period ended, the Falcons saw themselves up comfortably 5-1.

The third period commenced and the Falcons looked as if the game was tied because UWRF would go on to score six more goals to bring the final score to 11-1. The goal scorers in the third period were
Lydia Wagner,
Dani Sibley (twice),
Taylor Ramthun,
Carina Randazzo, and
Chloe Kinsel.

It was a combined effort in goal for the Falcons. The first two periods belonged to
Angie Hall, and she stopped 11 of the 12 shots she faced. The third period belonged to freshman goaltender
Kendra Carlson, and she stopped all five of the shots she faced.

UWRF dominated in the faceoff category and the shots on goal category. The Falcons got 37 shots on goal to the Blazers 17 shots on goal and the Falcons won 37 of the 57 faceoffs.

UWRF is back in action on Friday, Jan. 22 when it hosts UW-Stevens Points. The puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at Hunt Arena.
