Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – Scoring their most goals in a single game since 2012, the UW-River Falls women's soccer team shutout Northland University 7-0 at Ramer Soccer Field.
Abby Soderholm had a hat trick in the game to lead the Falcons to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UWRF came out of the gates hot, a goal coming in the 15th minute by Carrie Anderson put the Falcons on top early. On her sixth goal of the season, Anderson puts herself tied for third in the WIAC in goals scored. She was assisted by Rachel Windingstad on the goal.
- About a minute later, the Falcons struck again, this time Soderholm beat the goalkeeper with an assist coming from Maddie Bleick.
- Scoring their third goal in four minutes, the Falcons took a 3-0 lead when Rachel Windingstad fired a shot into the back of the net. She was assisted by Kayla Windingstad.
- Just before the half, the Falcons added onto their lead. Tessa Quintavalle scored her first goal of the season. Coming off the bench she scored just over a minute after subbing into the match to give the Falcons a 4-0 advantage.
- At the half, UWRF had 12 shots on goal to the Lumberjills one. The Falcons also had the lone corner kick in the first period of play.
- In the second half, the Falcons were able to attempt a penalty kick. Soderholm put the goal past Megan Jordan of Northland, and the Falcons now had a 5-0 lead in the 50th minute.
- Rachel Windingstad connected on her second goal of the game in the 67th minute. Assisted by Jasmine Hunn, Windingstad now has five goals in 2016, which puts her as the eighth leading scorer in the WIAC.
- Soderholm finished her hat trick off with a goal in the 69th minute. Her sixth goal of the season also puts her tied for third in the WIAC for goals scored. Assisting was Jasmine Hunn once again.
- Soderholm's hat trick is the first since October 29, 2014 when Alex Swatloski scored three goals against UW-Superior in a 4-0 victory.
- UW-River Falls finished the afternoon with a total of 22 shots. 16 of those shots were on goal.
- Amanda LaDue registered the win as the goalie for UWRF, she is now 1-1 on the season. She played the first 45 minutes of the match and had one save. Haley Crosby and Julia Wolf split time in the second half to wrap up the Falcons fifth shutout of 2016.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Lumberjills were led by Madeleine Wieland who had four shots in the game, with one being on goal.
- Megan Jordan played all 90 minutes in the net for Northland. She moves to 1-1 on the season. She made nine saves in the match.
LOOKING AHEAD
The UW-River Falls women's soccer team jumps right back into WIAC play on October 15 at 4 PM against WIAC leading UW-Whitewater (13-1, 3-0 WIAC). The Falcons will come back home later next week against UW-Eau Claire (5-6-1, 2-1 WIAC) on October 19
th at 3 PM.
