The Falcons now sit a half a game behind UW-Platteville (6-8, 1-3 WIAC) for the sixth and final spot in the WIAC playoffs with three WIAC games to go in the regular season.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Whitewater pounced early in the third minute of the game when Carly Pottle scored her eighth goal of the season for the Warhawks. She was assisted by Marie Lesperance.
- The Falcons attempted their first shot 10 minutes into the game when Abby Soderholm kicked a ball too high. Soderholm attempted both shots in the first half by UWRF, one being on goal which was saved.
- In the first half, Falcon senior goalie Erica Cimochowski played extremely well. She saved six out of seven shots that were fired on goal by the seventh ranked Warhawks.
- Kayla Windingstad had the first shot of the second half for UWRF which was saved.
- UW-Whitewater extended their lead in the 54th minute with a goal by Marie Lesperance, her eighth goal of the season which was unassisted.
- The Warhawks capped their victory off with their third goal in the 84th minute. Emily Mouille was assisted by Elli Wahlberg.
- The Falcons attempted a total of eight shots in the game, three of which were on goal.
- The only yellow card of the game was against UW-Whitewater, and no other cards were given out to either team.
- Cimochowski led the Falcons in goal, she registered 10 saves in the game, she was faced with 24 shots in the game, 13 of which were on goal.
THE OPPOSITION
- Mouille attempted a team-high three shots on goal. Her goal in the 84th minute was her third of the season.
- WIAC leading goal scorer Brianna Reid attempted just two shots, one of which were on goal.
- Lesperance's goal puts her just two goals behind teammate Reid for the WIAC lead in goals. Along with her assist, she is now third in the WIAC in total points with 18.
LOOKING AHEAD
UW-River Falls will now return home to face UW-Eau Claire (6-6-1, 3-1 WIAC). The game is set to start at 3 PM on October 19
th. The Falcons last season fell to the Blugolds twice in the season by a combined score of 5-3. Their last win over UW-Eau Claire was in 2012.
