RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – Battling the elements, the UW-River Falls women's soccer team were defeated in an overtime game against the Pioneers of UW-Platteville on senior day at Ramer Soccer Field. The Falcons honored two seniors on the roster including starting goalkeeper
Erica Cimochowski and starting defender
Kenzie Weisman.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons began on the offensive. Rachel Windingstad fired a shot on goal in just the second minute of the game which was saved.
- UW-River Falls scored the first goal in the game with an easy kick in goal for Kayla Windingstad. With a pass from Carrie Anderson, Windingstad was able to dribble the ball past the goalkeeper and tap the ball into the net to take the lead 1-0.
- UW-Platteville would knot up the score in the first half with a goal by Anna Sobal assisted by Yamilex Jaramillo.
- The rest of the half the Falcons would put on pressure on the Pioneers but Alyssa Sickler made three saves to keep the game tied 1-1.
- In the second half, Platteville sustained more offense and put pressure on the Falcon defense. Goalie Erica Cimochowski saw more action and finished regulation with four saves after just one in the first half.
- The Falcons were called for three offsides in regulation with Platteville having none. The Pioneers out shot UWRF 15-13 in regulation. Five shots from each team were on goal in regulation.
- Platteville scored the game winning goal with 50 seconds left in overtime. The goal game from Julie Divita assisted by Emily Phillips.
- In the game, the Pioneers outshot the Falcons with 18 shots to 13. The Pioneers also edged out the Falcons in shots on goal 6-5.
- River Falls had all of the corner kicks in the game with two.
- Kayla Windingstad led the Falcons in shots with four, three of which were on goal.
- Rachel Windingstad registered three shots with Erika Lagoon having two.
THE OPPOSITION
- The goal by Anna Sobal was her second of the season.
- The overtime win is the Pioneers first overtime win of the season after previously going 0-1-1 in two other overtime games.
- The Pioneers now are 2-5 in the WIAC this season which puts them as seventh in the WIAC.
- UW-Platteville outshot the Falcons in the second half 12-3 and 3-0 in the overtime period.
