Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team picked a nonconference road game as they defeated St. Scholastica Tuesday evening 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kyle Gattelaro got the Falcons on the board first at 5:48 in the first period. Gattelaro was assisted by Hunter Schneider.
- At 15:22, Saint's player Connor Faupel was called for interference and the Falcons went on the power play attack putting up three shots. With just four seconds left on the power play the Falcons were able to find the back of the net on a shot from Blake Anderson. Anderson was assisted by Ryan Doner and Terry Leabo.
- In the second period, the Saints got a goal on the board to cut the Falcon lead in half 2-1.
- With minutes left in the second period, Danny Hamburg took a pass from Brian Drapluk and Mike Fazio to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead.
- At 7:15 Danny Hamburg was called for checking from behind and the Saints were given a power play opportunity. Thirty seconds in they capitalized on it and brought the game within one.
- The Falcons had 11 shots on the power play opportunity. They had a total 26 shots on the night.
- Michael Lant led the team with 5 shots. Jeff Bergh had four shots and Mike Dietrich had three,
- Zach Quinn played all 60 minutes for the Falcons and recorded 20 saves.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Saints had 22 shots on the night, Derek Sutliffe had four and Steven Phee and Nola Ross each had three.
- Peter Mergariotis took the loss for the Saints. He gave up three goals but had a total 23 saves.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons return home to face Hamline University Friday evening. The puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m. Saturday night they will face MIAC opponent Hamline at 7:05 at Hunt Arena.
