Kate Theisen scored a season-high 13 points for the UW-River Falls women's basketball team as they obtained a huge road over Luther College 67-65.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Neither team would lead by more than seven points throughout the game, the lead changed 13 times during the contest. Theisen nailed a jumper with 54 seconds left as well as two clutch free throws with 23 seconds left to lift the Falcons to victory.
- The Norse led the game early with a 9-2 run to begin the game. UWRF would respond with an 8-1 run to tie the game at 10 at the end of the low scoring first quarter.
- Taylor Karge helped lead the Falcons to a lead for most of the second quarter. She scored five points in the period to give UWRF a five point lead. Luther would end the half scoring five of the last seven points to take a three point lead into the locker room.
- The third quarter was a big one for UWRF. Theisen would sink an and-one and Ali Clark continued her strong night from the floor and the Falcons led 44-39 with 3:48 to go in the third.
- Luther would continue to end quarters with strong runs. The Norse scored the final seven points in the third to take a two point lead into the final quarter.
- Theisen scored the opening bucket of the fourth quarter to tie the game, and that would set the tone for the tense final quarter in which the game would change leads seven times.
- UWRF would hold the lead for over three minutes in the middle of the quarter, but the game would remain close with neither team taking a two possession lead the entire quarter.
- The Falcons finally took the lead for good with Theisen's shot with 54 seconds left, the Falcons outscored the Norse 22-18 in the fourth quarter.
- UW-River Falls shot the lights out for most of the game going 29-59 (49.2 percent) from the floor. The Falcons struggled from beyond the arc going 2-17 (11.8 percent) but made up for it by dominating the paint points 48-16.
- Defense led to offense during the game for UWRF. The Falcons 12 steals led to eight fast break points and multiple easy layups on the other end.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Thiesen's season high 13 points came off 5-7 shooting from the floor in just 19 minutes.
- Taylor Paulsrud scored 13 on the night for UWRF. She was 5-10 from the floor and also had four steals.
- Taylor Karge and Ali Clark each had 12 points, most coming in the paint. Karge was 5-12 from the floor, Clark was an efficient 6-8 from the floor in her season-high for points.
- Hannah Pignato scored seven points in her role as a starter for the Falcons. Hayley Rau would score six points and lead the Falcons on the boards with six.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Norse got four scorers in double-figures in the contest. Anna Madrigal scored a team-high 14 points on 5-11 shooting.
- Shooting 24-59 (40.7 percent) from the floor the Norse also connected on seven threes and 10-15 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe.
- The Norse turned the ball over 21 times in the game, but won the rebound game 37-31 with nine offensive rebounds that led to nine second chance points.

UW-River Falls will return home for three of their last four games in 2016, first up is Hamline (3-4, 0-3 MIAC) on December 12
th at 7 p.m. The Falcons will remain home on December 14
th against St. Catherine University (5-3, 1-2 MIAC) with a 7 p.m. tip off.
