River Falls, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – A rough second quarter came back to haunt the UW-River Falls women's basketball game in a 67-46 loss at home on Saturday afternoon.

WHAT HAPPENED
- UWRF was outscored 19-4 in the second quarter by the Pointers, and the Falcons could only come within nine points in the second half despite outscoring the Pointers 21-16 in the third quarter.
- UW-Stevens Point raced out to an eight point lead scoring 12 of the first 16 points.
- The Falcons quickly sprinted back with a quick 8-0 run to tie the game at 12 points with 1:18 in the first quarter. UWSP scored the final five points in the quarter to hold a 17-12 lead.
- UWSP extended that run into the second quarter going on a 24-4 run by halftime and led 36-16 at the buzzer.
- UW-River Falls came out of the break with some physicality. While attacking the basket the Falcons outscored the Pointers 21-16 and had momentum on their side headed into the fourth.
- In the fourth quarter the Falcons could only come within 13 points, and ultimately fell at home 67-46.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Taylor Karge led the team in scoring with 10 points. She added four rebounds to her point total.
- Ali Clark came off the bench and scored nine points and had a pair of rebounds.
- Kate Theisen scored eight points in the game as well on 3-5 shooting.
- Crystal Pearson also came off the bench and scored five points on 2-3 shooting including an and-one in the second half.
- From the floor UWRF was 18-52 (34.6 percent) and connected on just one three pointer in the game.
- At the free throw line the Falcons were 9-12 (75 percent).
THE OPPOSITION
- UW-Stevens Point was led by Autumn Hennes with 17 points on 7-15 shooting. Taylor Barrett scored 12 points on 4-9 shooting including 4-5 from the free throw line.
- The top five scorers for the Pointers were their starters with Taylor Douglas the final Pointer in double-figures with 10 points on 4-5 shooting.
- From the floor, UW-Stevens Point was 23-49 (46.9 percent) and nailed five three pointers in the contest. As a team the Pointers were 16-19 (84.2 percent) from the charity stripe.
