HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STOUT
  • UW-River Falls found themselves down 21-3 late in the third.  A drive starting on the Stout 49 yard line changed things.  A 7-yard run by Michael Diggins, followed by a 6-yard run by Travon Hearns put UW-River Falls at the Stout 36.  Hearns then attempted a pass to Trenton Monson, but pass interference was called on Stout giving River Falls a first down at the Stout 21.  Four plays later Michael Diggins powered in from a yard out for the Falcons first touchdown of the game.
  • Halfway through the 4th quarter, River Falls struck quickly after a Stout turnover at their own 22 yard line.  Back-to-back 11 yard runs by Michael Diggins resulted in his second touchdown of the game.  With Angel Bautista's extra point good, Stout leads 21-16.
  • In the rain, Michael Diggins grounded out 158 yards on 30 carries to lead the Falcons.
  • Travon Hearns went 8-26 for 66 yards through the air with one interception.
  • Michael Diggins was the leading receiver for the Falcons with 5 catches for 13 yards.
  • Brandon McCarthy hauled in 1 pass for 36 yards, as the rain made it very hard to throw the ball.
  • Max Praschak led the Falcon defense with 10 tackles.
  • Michael Koch chipped in 7 tackles and a sack.
  • Mitch Dienger had 6 tackles and an interception.

THE OPPOSITION
  • Jay Alston was 10-21 passing for 183 yards and 3 TD's.
  • Kevion McDonald hauled in 4 catches for 66 yards, and one TD.
  • Bryan Sandifer had 3 catches for 55 yards, and 2 TD's.
  • Rayshawn Graham powered the Blue Devil rushing attack with 100 yards on 19 carries.
  • Nick Schulenburg led the defense with 11 tackles.

IN-DEPTH LOOK
  • The UW-River Falls defense once again stepped up big holding UW-Stout to 53 yards rushing as a team.  The 4th time this season they have held their opponent to under 100 yards rushing.
  • The Falcon defense also did a great job in forcing turnovers.  The Stout offense fumbled the ball 4 times, and River Falls recovered 2 of them, while also intercepting one pass.
  • The rain played a factor for both teams on 3rd down.  River Falls was 3 of 15 for the game, while Stout was 4 of 13.
