uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team was able to get back on track with a win against the 6
thranked University of St. Thomas Tommies 3-2 in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. 3 different players scored for the Falcons and
Angie Hall made 21 saves in net to get the win for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ST. THOMAS
• UW-River Falls controlled the play early outshooting the Tommies 10-5 to start the game.
• The Falcons got on the board first, as
Maddy Illikainen broke in 2 on 1. She snapped a shot past Kenzie Torpy on her stick side for her 3rd goal of the season.
• UWRF was awarded the first Power Play of the game, and dodged a bullet right off the bat, as the Tommies broke in 2 on 1 on
Angie Hall, but Hall made the save.
• The momentum continued early in the 2
nd in the Falcons favor, but a penalty on St. Thomas seemed to energize them, and they controlled the play for the next few minutes.
• The Falcons though would steal the momentum right back. Off the face-off
Callie Hoff won a race to the puck skated in on the Tommies goalie, put a nice move on her, and tucked in to the far side of the net for her 7
th goal of the season, and a 2-0 lead.
• UW-River Falls were given a gift, when the Tommies appeared to put the puck into their own net to make it 3-0.
Carly Moran was credited with the goal.
• The Tommies finally broke through
Angie Hall, as Kaylee Druk was able to get a goal off of a flurry of shots to make it 3-1.
• St. Thomas was able to cut the lead to 3-2 with just seconds to go in the period. Kaylee Druk put home a loose puck in the crease, it was her second goal of the game.
• The 3
rd period saw back and forth action from both teams. The score remained 3-2 through out, and the Tommies pulled Torpy with 1:52 on the clock. The Falcons had a couple of long shots go just wide.

• Kenzie Torpy made 29 saves for the Tommies.
• Kayle Druk scored both Tommie goals.

The UW-River Falls women's hockey team returns to action the first weekend of 2018 as they go on the road to face Concordia Moorhead. The puck drops at 7 PM on January 5
th, 2018.
