Box Score St. Paul, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls Men's basketball team found themselves down 41-26 at halftime, but came back in the second half to defeat Northwestern, St. Paul 69-65.
Alex Herink scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half to help rally the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NORTHWESTERN, ST. PAUL
- The first few minutes of the game was pretty even with the squads trading baskets, with UW-River Falls taking an early 6-4 lead. Northwestern, St. Paul then went on a 9-0 run to take a 13-6 lead.
- The Falcons responded by outscoring Northwestern, St. Paul over the next few minutes 14-8 to pull within 21-20. Matt Keller hit two 3-pointers, and Brennan Witt scored 5 points in the paint to help key the surge.
- Northwestern, St. Paul then took control of the rest of the half from that point outscoring the Falcons 20-6, for a 41-26 half-time lead.
- Brennan Witt lead the Falcons with 9 points and 5 rebounds in the first half.
- The 2nd half saw Northwestern push its lead to 21 points at 50-29 after a 3-point play by Isaiah Rahier.
- After that the Falcons seized control of the momentum, and started to chip away at the lead.
- A quick 10-0 run by the UW-River Falls cut the lead to 11 points.
- Bazile Anderson Jr. of Northwestern was fouled, and he made two free throws to stem the tide momentarily.
- The Falcons responded with an 11-0 run to cut the lead to 52-50. Alex Herink scored 7 points to help keep the momentum going.
- With 6:51 to go on the clock a jumper by Clay Seifert gave UW-River Falls their first lead since early in the first half at 54-53.
- Down the stretch the Falcons would hit their free throws, and Alex Herink add 7 more points as the Falcons would hold on for the victory.
- Alex Herink would finish with 24 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 8-9 from the foul line in the second half.
- Clay Seifert scored 13 points, with 6 rebounds.
- Brennan Witt finished had 12 points to along with 5 rebounds.
THE OPPOSITION
- Tanner Youngberg scored 10 points and had 5 rebounds in the first half. He would finish with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
- Taylor Slagter scored 12 points.
- Isaiah Rahier had 11 points.
