Menomonie, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls men's hockey team traveled to Menomonie, WI to take on the UW-Stout Blue Devils. The Falcons would lead 3-2 halfway through the second period, but the Blue Devils would score the final two goals to take the win 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons jumped out to an early lead at 6:17 mark of the first period when Christian George scored his 5th goal of the season. He was assisted on the goal by Mitch Kontny and Michael Lant.
- Joe Kleven was called for tripping at the 7:01 mark of the first period and put the Falcons on the power play. The Falcons would only get one shot on net as the Blue Devils killed off the Falcon power play.
- At 11:14 of the first period Joe Drapluk was called for Tripping.
- The Blue Devils took advantage of the power play to tie the game up at 1, when Joe Kleven found the back of the net.
- UW-Stout would take a 2-1 lead at the 15:36 mark of the period when Mathias Ahman found the back of the net.
- The Falcons would answer to tie the game at 2, at the 17:46 mark of the period. Blake Busch scored his 3rd goal of the season, and he was assisted on the goal by Mike Dietrich and Mike Fazio.
- The first period ended with the score tied at 2. The Falcons out shot the Blue Devils 14-8 in the period.
- The Falcons started the second period by sustaining pressure in the offensive end, and generating multiple shot towards the Blue Devil net.
- At the 5:23 mark of the period the sustained pressure paid off with the Blue Devils being called for roughing. The Falcons could not get anything going on the power play and the game stayed tied at 2.
- At the 10:05 mark of the second period the Falcons broke the 2-2 tie, when Mitch Kontny scored his 4th goal of the season. He was assisted on the goal by Ryan Doner and Jeff Bergh.
- The Falcon penalty killers would be tested twice in the second half of the second period. The first penalty to Michael Lant at the 11:47 mark of the period the Falcons were able to kill off. The second penalty to Mike Dietrich at the 17:31 mark the Blue Devils would find the back of the net on the power play to tie the game at 3 late in the period.
- The second period ended with the game tied at 3.
- UW-Stout would break the 3-3 tie at the 7:40 mark of the third period when Gavin Smith found the back of the net.
- The Falcons would get a power play at the 13:53 mark when Riley Colvard was called for holding.
- The Falcons managed a couple of scoring chances on the power play, but still trailed 4-3.
- UW-River Falls would pull their goalie at the 19:50 mark of the period but could not tie the game with the extra attacker and lost 4-3.
- Zach Quinn was in net for the Falcons and made 20 saves on the night.
- Senior Mitch Kontny lead the offense with a goal and an assist.Â

- Spencer Viele made 24 saves in net for the Blue Devils.
