River Falls, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team bounced back on Saturday night with a 3-2 win over UW-Eau Claire, which give the Falcons their fourth straight WIAC title and seventh straight conference title.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Hailey Herdine scored twice in the contest, her second being the game winner at 11:14 in the third period.
- The visiting Blugolds took the early advantage striking at 13:31 in the first period. Kelly Knetter's goal was assisted by Holly Turnbull. UWEC would hold a 1-0 lead after the first period.
- UWRF tied the game at 12:48 of the second period when Herdine netted her first goal of the night. Herdine's seventh goal of the season was assisted by Dani Sibley and Carly Moran.
- UWRF lit the lamp once again in the second period to take the lead. After skating five on three, the Blugolds gained a skater back at 19:27, Moran would blast a shot into the back of the net at 19:34 to give the Falcons the lead on the power play goal.
- Moran's goal was assisted by Sibley and Bella Wagner. At the end of two periods, the Falcons held a 2-1 advantage.
- In the physical contest, 11 penalties were called, with the biggest penalty coming at 10:30 in the third period. Herdine knocked home her second goal on the power play, and the Falcons had extended their lead. The goal was assisted by Haley Nielsen.
- UWEC was able to bring the score to within one with a goal at 19:24 after pulling their goalie. Claudia Gagnon's goal was assisted by Lexi Wilson.
- UW-River Falls was able to skate out the last 36 seconds and capture another conference title, and the fourth straight by the 2017 senior class consisting of Sibley, Emily Stark, Paige Johnson, Lydia Wagner, and Carina Randazzo.
- The Falcons special teams worked wonders in the game, UWRF scored in 2-6 power plays, while attempting 18 shots in those power plays.
- Herdine and Moran each slapped seven shots on goal, with Nielsen putting four on net.
- Herdine also did a lot of the face off work for UWRF. She won 13 of her 17 face offs. Bella Wagner won seven of her 10, and Stark won eight of her 12.
- Angie Hall made 15 saves for the Falcons in the win between the pipes. She is now 16-2 on the season.
THE OPPOSITION
- Jaedyn Walz put four shots on net in the loss for the Blugolds.
- Erin Conolly finished with 28 saves for the Blugolds, with the loss she is now 13-6-1 on the season.
- Walz also won seven of her 12 face offs in the game.
- The Blugolds scored on one of their power plays in five attempts. In the five power plays, they attempted six shots on goal.
LOOKING AHEAD
The UW-River Falls women's hockey team has wrapped up WIAC play this season, but the team will wrap up their season at Hunt Arena against College of St. Scholastica on February 14 at 7:05 p.m.
