Women's Soccer Wins Big

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team dominated offensively in a non-conference win over Northland College.  The Falcons scored seven goals in the match and beat the Jills 7-0. 
 
THE RUNDOWN:

WHAT HAPPENED:
  • The Falcon offense found its way scoring seven goals in in the shutout of Northland. 
  • The Falcons scored five goals in the first half and had 13 shots.
  • At 6:01 Kayla Windingstad scored the first goal and eventual game winning goal on a pass from Maggie Koehler.
  • Two minutes later Koehler got her opportunity to score as she got a pass from Abby Soderholm.
  • At 15:25, Soderholm aided again on a goal made by Jasmine Hunn.
  • Soderholm scored an unassisted goal at 17:23 to bring the Falcon lead to 4-0. 
  • Carrie Anderson got the final goal of the half at 23:13 on a pass from Mariah Troje.
  • In the second half the Falcon defense kept the Lumber Jill quiet not allowing them to get a shot in.  The Falcons however got 10 shots in the half and scored two goals.
  • Mariah Troje scored the first goal of the half at 56:36 on a pass from Abby Soderholm.
  • Camryn Altnau got the final goal of the match at 58:06 with an assist from Kari Rollo.
  • Abby Soderholm led the Falcons with six shots.  She had five shot and goal with one goal and three assists.
  • Haley Crosby got the win for the Flacon with three saves in 90 minutes of play.
 
THE OPPOSITION:
  • The Jills had three shots in the game.  Harley Kinney had two of the three shots.   
  • Megan Jordan took the loss for the Jills.  She gave up seven goals but had 11 saves.
 
LOOKING AHEAD:
  • The Falcons host the Saints of St. Scholastica Wednesday afternoon.  Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Ramer Soccer Fields.
