RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.conm) - The UW-River Falls Women's Soccer team outshot the Hamline Pipers almost 2 to 1, but fell in the home opener 3-2.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Pipers got on the board first scoring the first goal of the afternoon at 10:31
- The Falcons would tie it up in the last minute of first half play when Kari Rollo would set up a pass to Callie McCauley and she would sneak it past the Piper keeper.
- UW-River Falls controlled the play the entire first half of the contest outshooting Hamline 18-4.
- In the second half, the Pipers would pull ahead 2-1 when Kaley Roberts scored off a foul on the Falcons.
- Roberts would do it again in the final minutes scoring her second goal of the day at 83:11 to put the Pipers up 3-1.
- At 84:31 with the final nearing, Abby Soderholm sent a laser of a shot to the top left corner of the goal to put the Falcons within one. Assisting on the play was Maggie Kohler and Mariah Troje.
- Soderholm led the Falcons with 12 shot attempts, scoring one goal.
- Amanda LaDue may have only had 3 saves in the game, but she stopped a couple of great Hamline chances in the second half to keep the game close.
THE OPPOSITION
- Hamline's Kaley Roberts scored two goals in the second half for the Pipers. Her second goal turned out to be the eventual game winner.
- Kat Armstrong was strong in goal for the Pipers with 8 saves.

- The Falcons continue their home stand this Friday when the University of St. Thomas visits River Falls. Game time is set for 3 P.M.
