Stevens Point, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey traveled to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to face off in the first game of a two game weekend series against conference rival UW-Stevens Point on Friday evening. The Falcons would control the game throughout and out shoot the Pointers 55-10, but neither team could find the back of the net even after a five minute overtime and the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Angie Hall made 10 saves in net for the Falcons to secure the tie with her second shutout in her last three games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons would come out early and control the game from the opening faceoff, firing shots on goal early and sustaining offensive zone time with the puck.
- The sustained pressure paid off at the 12:26 mark of the period when the Falcons went on the power play after Alana Achterkirch was called for hooking. The Falcons would only be able to get one shot on net on the power play as they could not find the back of the net.
- The Falcons continued to pressure after the power play, firing more shots at the Pointer net but Sydney Conley stopped them all. The Falcons out shot the Pointers 16-4 in the first period.
- The Falcons once again controlled the play in the second period until the 13:07 mark when Maddy Illikainen was called for checking sending the Pointers to the power play. The Falcon penalty killers did a tremendous job killing off the penalty and not allowing a single shot to reach goaltender Angie Hall.
- Even though the Pointers had the only power play of the second period the Falcons still out shot them for the period 16-3.
- The Falcons upped their pressure at the start of the third period and it lead to another power play opportunity at the 8:43 mark of the period. UW-River Falls peppered the Pointer goalie with 5 shots on the power play including 3 more that were blocked out by the defense, but could not find the back of the net.
- The Falcons continued to pressure the rest of the period but could not find the back of the net as the game was heading into overtime. The Falcons out shot the Pointers 19-3 in the period.
- In the overtime period the Falcons once again controlled the play for the entire period. They fired 7 shots on goal to try to get the game winner, as the Pointers could not muster a shot on goal for the period, however the Falcons could not find the back of the net and game ended in a 0-0 tie.
- Callie Hoff lead the Falcons with 9 shots on goal. Hailey Herdine and Carly Moran would each add 7 of their own.
- Angie Hall made 10 saves in net for the Falcons.
