RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – UW-La Crosse scored two goals in the second half to give the Falcons their second WIAC loss of the season Saturday at Ramer Field.
The Eagles, who move to 4-0 in the conference, outshot the Falcons 40-1 in the match forcing the Falcons to play defense a majority of the 90 minutes of play. Keeper
Haley Crosby had 14 total saves in the match. She had five in the first half keeping the game scoreless and nine in the second half. The Falcons had one shot and it came in the first half at 30:13 by
Rachel Windingstad. Eagle keeper Lily Brock made the save and kept the Falcons off the board.
The first half was scoreless for both teams The Eagles scored their first goal at 69:22 when Delaney Harnell found the back of the net. Twenty minutes later at the 87th minute Kaitlyn Villars got one past Crosby and secured 2-0 win.
The Eagles out shot UWRF 40-1, including 14-1 on goal. They had 10 total corner kicks, six in the first half and four in the second. Each team had four fouls.
The Falcons are now 8-5-1 and 2-2 in the WIAC. They will travel to Duluth, Minn. on Oct. 17
th to take on St. Scholastica.in a nonconference matchup.
