ST. PAUL, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The No. 4 UW-River Falls women's hockey team fell to the No. 7 University of St. Thomas 1-3 Wednesday evening. The loss broke the Falcons 10 game win streak.
The Falcons were the first to get on the board when
Reilly Springman scored in the first period at 1:32. She was assisted on the goal by
Andrea Olson.
The Tommies shut the Falcons down for the remainder of the game. They scored two goals in the second period. The second came on a power play opportunity after
Kathryn Larson was called for cross-checking. The Tommies scored their third and final goal of the night in the final minute of the matchup.
With the win the Tommies remain undefeated this season so far with eleven straight wins. The Falcons move to 10-2 on the season.
The Falcons travel to Augsburg University Friday night to take on the Auggies in their final game of 2018. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
