Menomonie, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls Men's hockey team traveled to Menomonie, Wisconsin to face UW-Stout looking for their first conference victory. A short-handed goal by
Joe Drapluk in the 1
st period gave the Falcons a boost of energy, but two two goals by the Blue Devils in the 3
rd gave UW-Stout a 3-1 conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STOUT
- Early on the pace was fast up and down the ice. At the 4:26 mark of the period, the Blue Devils caught the Falcons in a partial line change, and broke in 3-2 on Zach Quinn. Kyle Sylvester then snapped a shot past Zach Quinn for an early 1-0 lead.
- After UW-Stout's goal the Falcons offense picked it up out shooting the Blue Devils 10-3 over the next few minutes.
- UW-Stout went on the Power Play as Blake Anderson was called for hooking, but it was the Falcons taking advantage of it as Cayden Cahill and Joe Drapluk went in 2 on 1. Joe Drapluk one-timed a pass from Cahill for his 8th of the season, and tying the game at 1-1.
- Early on in the 2nd period, saw a flurry by the Falcons in the Blue Devils end, but they were unable to get one past Ahlgren.
- Half-way through the period, the Falcons went on the power play, and they had a great chance as Falcon forward broke in alone on the wing, but his shot went just wide.
- Both teams exchanged power play chances the rest of the period, but neither team was able to capitalize.
- The Falcons went on the power play again early in the 3rd period, and the Falcons once again were able to put shots on Ahlgren who stopped them all.
- Just past the half-way point of the 3rd period the Blue Devils took the lead as Jonathon Marzec fired one past Quinn for a 2-1 lead.
- The Stout Blue Devils would push the lead to 3-1 as Austin Jackson came into the Falcon zone, and using the defenseman as a screen beat Quinn high.
- UW-River Falls was unable to pull Quinn in the last minute of the game as UW-Stout kept the puck in the Falcon zone, and time ran out.
- Zach Quinn made 25 saves for the Falcons.
