RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - The women's soccer team had their largest margin of victory since 2012 on Wednesday night, defeating Martin Luther 9-0 on the turf at Ramer Field. It took UW-River Falls over 20 minutes to get on the scoreboard, but
Camryn Altnau scored in the 24th minute on a deep shot from the top of the box. It was Altnau's third straight game with a goal, and she added two more goals in the 43rd and 72nd minute to complete her first career hat trick. She is now the leading scorer for the Falcons this season with five goals.
Alayna Westerman scored her first goal as a Falcon in the 33rd minute on a shot from almost 20 yards out that was similar to Altnau's strike.
Kassidy Mackie added another goal immediately following Altnau's second goal when she knocked in the shot after Martin Luther goalie Mollie Fischer deflected a shot from the Falcons.
Amanda LaDue started in goal for the Falcons, but she didn't face a single shot in her 45 minutes in goal. UWRF outshot the Knights 16-0 in the first half and forced 10 saves for MLC as they led 4-0 at the break.

Alivia Kons entered the game at halftime for UWRF, while Maria Tomassetti took over for Fischer in goal for the Knights. The Falcons continued to dominate the game, eventually outshooting Martin Luther 35-1 by the final whistle with 25 shots on target.
Kari Rollo received a wide open shot on goal when
Mariah Troje played a ball past the keeper for Rollo's first goal of the season in the 57th minute.
Katie Marthaler hit a high arching shot into the bottom right corner in the 60th minute, which was quickly followed up by
Jadelyn Hunn powering her way through multiple MLC defenders before burying the ball for her second goal of the year.
Altnau completed her hat trick after some assistance from
Maggie Koehler in the box, and
Callie McCauley scored from close range in the 88th minute to secure a 9-0 win. UWRF didn't have to save a single shot in the match and took eight more corners than MLC. Koehler led the Falcons with six shots while
Lindsey Jack had the most shots on target with four.
The Falcons move to 2-1-1 with the win over the Knights. They return to action on Saturday when they travel to Hamline University for a 1 p.m. kickoff. UWRF is 6-7 all-time against the Pipers.
