Callie Hoff scored a hat trick in the UW-River Falls women's hockey 5-0 shutout win over Northland College Friday night in Ashland, WI.
Hoff scored her first goal in the final minute of the first period. The goal was a shorthand goal after Same Young was called for hooking at 19:28.
Ashley Effertz and
Haley Nielsen each assisted on the play.
Neither team scored in the second period. The Falcons had two power play opportunities but were unable to capitalize on it.
Hoff started a four-goal run in the third period when she scored a power play goal at 3:02. A minute later,
Abigail Stow scored on a pass from
Reilly Springman and
Haley Nielsen. Hoff completed her hat trick at 7:02 when she found the back of the net. She was assisted on the play by
Jessica Bird and
Kathryn Larson. The Falcons fifth and final goal came at 16:26 when
Alyson Niebur put one past the Lumber Jill goaltender.
Erin Olson and
Sophia Leong assisted on the goal.
The Falcons had a total 52 shots on goal while keeping the Lumber Jill's to just six shots on goal.
Tatyana Delaittre got the win in goal.
The No. 6 Falcons finish out their weekend series at Northland Saturday afternoon. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m.
