Men's Hockey Faces Off Against Top Ranked Pointers

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The No. 1 UW-Stevens Point Pointers proved they are the top team in the country scoring six goals in the first two periods against the Falcons Saturday night. 
 
The Falcons were able to put up two goals in the final period.  Peter Karavos scored his second goal of the season at 12:51.  He was assisted on the goal by Eddie Matsushima and Josh Arnold.  One minute later, Aussie Miller fired a pass from Cayden Cahill to the upper corner of the goal. 
 
The Pointers scored two goals in the final five minutes of the first period.  They then went on to score four goals in the second period.  One goal was a penalty shot that was awarded after the Falcons were called for delay of game. 
 
The Falcons were outshot 15-34.  Zach Quinn had 28 saves in goal. 
 
This upcoming Wednesday January 23rd the Falcons will host Hamline in a nonconference matchup at Hunt Arena.  Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
