Falcons Fall to St. Benedict at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team hosted College of St. Benedict on Monday night.  The Falcons struggled offensively, despite scoring 51 points, shooting just 29% from the floor.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons were outscored in all four quarters, scoring just five points in the first. 
  • UWRF shot just 29% from the floor in the first half, but a solid 45% beyond the arc. 
  • They outscored CSB off turnovers in the second half, scoring 10 points overall.
  • The Falcons were outscored in points in the paint, 14-44.
  • The Falcons were also outrebounded 25-49. 
  • UWRF field goal percentage remained around 29% in the second half, and their three-point percentage fell to 13%, hitting 2-15 of their outside shots.
  • Overall the Falcons shot 61% from the free throw line, going 8-13.

  • Jenna Zeman was the leading scorer for Falcons with 15 points on 5-12 shooting, 1-4 from behind the arc. She also hit 4-6 of her free-throws. 
  • Sydney Hein and Haley DeSouza scored 8 points each. 
  • UWRF shot 18-62 (29.0% percent) from the floor in the loss. As a team, the Falcons made seven three-pointers and gathered 11 steals.

  • College of St. Benedict was led by Alex Johnson with 22 points. She shot 11-15 from the floor.
  • Sidney Schiffler scored 11 for CSB and shot 4-7 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line.
