RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team hosted College of St. Scholastica on Friday night. The Falcons dominated the first half, outscoring the Saints 49-17. Contributing to the first half lead was a 12-0 run by the Falcons ending the second quarter. River Falls had a second 12-0 run late in the fourth quarter.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Falcons outscored the Saints in the first two quarters of the game. The Falcons went 16-31 from the floor, including eight three pointers, shooting 51.6 percent.
- UWRF hit 9-10 from the free throw line also in the first half.
- They outscored CSS in points off turnovers 19-12, 15 of those points coming in the first half.
- Overall the Falcons scored just six 2nd chance points in the game, four of them coming in the first half, finishing the half with just four offensive rebounds.
- The Falcons went into halftime with a 49-17 lead.
- UWRF shot just 20 percent in the second half overall, making 6-30 field goals, and two three pointes. They shot 58.8 percent from the free throw line (10-17).
- The Falcons bench contributed 23 points in the win, eight coming in the second half.
- River Falls was outscored in points in the paint 26-20.
- The Falcons finished the game with 13 steals and 19 turnovers.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Biranna Koop was the leading scorer for Falcons with 21 points on 7-11 shooting, 3-4 from behind the arc. She also recorded 11 rebounds and two steals.
- Jenna Zeman scored 14 points for UWRF on 3-12, as well as hitting 7-9 free throws. Shelby Kelley contributed 10 points in the Falcons win.
- UWRF made 22-61 shots (36.1 percent) from the floor in the win. They went 10-28 from behind the arc, and hit 19-27 free throws (70.4 percent).
- As a team, the Falcons gathered 49 rebounds and 12 steals.
THE OPPOSITION
- CSS was led by Kaylee Kennedy with 13 points. She shot 4-11 from the floor and went 5-6 from the free throw line.
- Karlie Skog and Lizzie Altendorf each scored seven for the Saints.
- From the field the Saints shot 15-64 (23.4 percent) and 1-12 (8.3 percent) from downtown. They also shot 70.4 percent from the free throw line, 19-27.

UW-River Falls will participate in the UW-La Crosse Thanksgiving Tournament next weekend, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
