RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team picked up their third win of the season in a nonconference matchup against St. Marys University.  The Falcons defeated the Cardinals 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ST. MARYS

• It was the Cardinals that stuck first in the second period at 8:14 on a power play opportunity.  Anya Hafiz found the back of the net to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.
• Abigail Stow tied it up 1-1 at 16:28 on an unassisted power play goal. 
• Maddie McCollins scored her first goal as a Falcon at 18:02 to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead in the second period.
• In the third period, Kora Torkelson scored the Falcons third goal of the afternoon.  She was assisted on the goal by Alyson Niebur and Madi Nolan. 
• The Cardinals pulled their goalie for an extra shooter leaving the goal open for Erica Schramel to score from center ice.
• The Falcons outshot the Cardinals 40-13.  Abigail Stow had eight shots on goal to lead the offense. 
• Sami Miller collected her second win of the season in goal with 12 saves.

 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons open conference play Friday November 15 at home against the Pointers of UW-Stevens Point.  Start of the matchup is set for 7:05 pm at Hunt Arena.
