RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team suffered their first WIAC loss of the season.  The Falcons fell to UW-Superior 2-5 at Hunt Arena Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-SUPERIOR

• Both teams scored a goal in the first period.  The Yellowjackets struck first with a goal 35 seconds into the start of the game.
• Josh Arnold tied the game up 1-1 with a goal at 12:03.  Peter Karavos assisted on the goal. 
• The Yellowjackets scored three goals in the second period. Their first was a power play goal at 2:30 by Jordan Martin.
• Superior scored two more goals to give them a 4-1 lead at the conclusion of the second period.
• The Falcons scored the final goal of the game at 12:13. Cayden Cahill took advantage of a power play opportunity to scored on a pass from Jackson Nauss. 
• The game was a high penalty with the two teams combining for 17 total penalties.

The Falcons travel to No. 1 UW-Eau Claire to take on the Blugolds at 7 pm.
