STEVENS POINT, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team ended their 2019 season with a 2-6 loss to No. 1 UW-Stevens Point in the semifinal game of the WIAC Championships.
The Pointers scored their six goals in the first two periods. They scored two goals in the first period the first coming at 11:26 and then another at 14:29. They scored three more goals in the first half of the second period.
The Falcons got on the board at 10:17 in the second period.
Cayden Cahill took a pass from
Peter Karavos and
Joel Frazee to score.
Aussie Miller gave the Falcons their second goal of the night at 3:36 in the third period. Assisting him on the play was
Eddie Matsushima and
Josh Arnold.
Joe Marcouiller took the loss in goal giving up four goals. He did have 16 saves in 23 minutes of play.
Zach Quinn tended to the goal for the final thirty-six minutes. He gave up two goals and has 16 saves.
The Falcons finish the season 12-11-5 overall and 1-4-3 in the WIAC standings.
