CLERMONT, Florida (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls softball team shut out UM-Morris in their opener at the PFX Games in Florida. The Falcons topped Morris 12-0 in five innings.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Kaia Dorn lead off the game with a double to left field and was then sacrificed to 3rd base. She then scored on a ground out to 3rd.
- Defensively in the 1st, the Falcons retired the top of Morris' lineup with a strikeout and two groundouts.
- The Falcons highest scoring inning came in the 2nd, in which they scored 6 runs. Ali Krohn, Bri Daechsel, Dorn, and Noelle Senour all doubled in the inning. The four doubles, combined with singles from Hannah Theobald and Lexi Dupee and a walk by Rebecca Daley, helped the Falcons increase their lead to seven. All six runs in the inning were earned.
- The Falcons walked two Cougars with a fly out to left field in between, but struck out the side to end the inning with two runners on.
- In the top of the 4th, the Falcons added another 4 runs off 4 hits to their lead. Dorn lead off the inning with a homerun, her first of the year. The Falcons followed with three hits, along with two defensive errors committed by the Cougars, to extend their lead to 11.
- Theobald tripled and scored on a single by Molly Kaspar in the final inning of the game.
