RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team took down No. 5 Augsburg University 2-1 in an exciting game Saturday night at Hunt Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST AUGSBURG
- The Falcons struck first with a goal at 9:12 in the first period. Jackson Nauss scored on a pass from Jake Skolnik.
- At 3:53 in the second period on the final seconds of a Falcon power play opportunity, Augsburg sent the puck down the ice to Zach Quinn who fired it back setting up a pass for Sam Anzai to flip it past the Auggie goaltender. The goal gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
- Augsburg cut the Falcon lead in half with a lone goal in the second period at 12:10. The goal was a power play for the Auggies after Joel Frazee was called for multiple penalties.
- The Falcons held the Auggies to just seven shots in the third period and kept them from taking advantage of two power play opportunities.
- The Falcons outshot the Auggies 28-24. Zach Quinn had an impressive game in goal collecting 23 saves.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons host Bethel University in a in a nonconference matchup Saturday night at 7 pm on January 11. In the last ten meetings between the two teams, the Falcons have come away with eight wins and a tie.
