MENOMONIE, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team picked up a WIAC conference win Tuesday night as they defeated UW-Stout 6-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STOUT
- The Falcons capitalized on two power plays early on in the game to give them a 2-0 lead. Cayden Cahill scored the first goal and was assisted on the play by Christian Hausinger and Jackson Nauss.
- Hausinger turned around and scored his own power play goal to start off the second period.
- Four more goals were scored in the second period. The Falcons scored three and Stout scored their first goal of the evening.
- Joel Frazee scored an unassisted goal at the six-minute mark pulling the Falcons ahead 3-0.
- The Falcons got themselves in penalty trouble but were the team to capitalize scoring a short hand goal. Josh Arnold found the back of the net increasing the lead to 4-0.
- The Blue Devils scored a lone goal at 15:25 in the second period.
- Christian Hausinger scored his second goal at 16:01
- Hausinger recorded a hat trick after scoring his third goal of the night at 10:55 in the third period.
- Stout finished the evening with a goal at 16:02. Assisting him n the play was Peter Karavos.
- The match had multiple penalties, 21 total between the two teams.
- The Falcons outshot the Blue Devils 29-24.
- Zach Quinn had 22 saves in goal for the Falcons.
LOOKING AHEAD
With the win the Falcons improve to 10-4-2 on the season. They travel to St. Olaf College to take on the Oles in a nonconference matchup Friday evening. Game time is 7 p.m.
