Women's Basketball Defeated by UWSP at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team was defeated by UWSP at home on Wednesday evening.  The Falcons fell 45-62.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 25 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 7-28, including 1-10 from three point.
  • Crystal Pearson led the Falcons in the first half scoring four points on 2-6 shooting from the field.
  • The Falcons scored six points off the bench overall, four in the first half. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime down 17-23. 
  • UWRF shot 38.5 percent in the second half overall, making 10-26 field goals and making 4-9 three-pointers. The Falcons also made 4-10 from the free throw line in the half.
  • Sydney Hein led the Falcons in the second half with 10 points.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 20 points in the paint, 10 in the second half.
  • The Falcons also scored 10 points off of 11 Pointer turnovers.
  • UWRF scored four 2nd chance points off of four offensive rebounds.
  • River Falls finished the game with 24 rebounds and six steals.

  • Hein led the Falcons with 12 points off of 4-8 shooting from the field.  She also recorded four rebounds and five steals.
  • Pearson contributed 10 points on the night.
  • UWRF made 17-54 shots (31.5 percent) from the floor in the loss. They went 5-19 from behind the arc (26.3 percent), and hit 6-12 free throws (50 percent).

THE OPPOSITION
  • UW-Stevens Point was led by Taylor Greenheck and Kellan Schmidt with 14 points each.
