Falcons Win Big at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team won at home on Friday night against Mount Mary University.  The Falcons defeated MMU 83-68.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 48.3 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 14-29, including 5-11 from three point, and 15-20 from the free throw line (75 percent).
  • Brianna Koop led the Falcons in the first half scoring 17 points on 6-9 shooting from the field, and hitting 4-6 from the free throw line.
  • The Falcons scored 27 points off the bench overall, nine in the first half. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime leading 48-30. 
  • UWRF shot 39.5 percent in the second half overall, making 15-38 field goals and making 3-18 three-pointers (16.7 percent).
  • Cassie Heinrichs led the Falcons in the second half with six points, making 3-5 from the floor.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 40 points in the paint, 22 in the second half.
  • The Falcons also scored 19 points off of 18 Mount Mary turnovers.
  • UWRF scored 17 2nd chance points in the game off of 20 offensive rebounds.

  • Koop led the Falcons with 22 points off of 8-15 shooting from the field.  She also recorded 14 rebounds, achieving her first double-double of the season.
  • Heinrichs contributed 12 points on the night as well as six rebounds.
  • UWRF made 29-67 shots (43.3 percent) from the floor in the win. They went 8-29 from behind the arc (27.6 percent), and hit 17-26 free throws (65.4 percent).

  • Mount Mary was led by Erica Williams with 20 points, hitting 10-13 from the floor.
