Women's Basketball Falls at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The women's basketball team lost at home on Wednesday night against UW-Stout, 57-73.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons shot 41.7 percent from the field in the first half, hitting 10-24, including 3-10 from three point.
  • Brianna Koop led the Falcons in the first half scoring 11 points on 4-6 shooting from the field, including 2-3 from three point.
  • The Falcons scored nine points off the bench overall, two in the first half. 
  • The Falcons went into halftime trailing 28-38. 
  • UWRF shot 34.5 percent in the second half overall, making 10-29 field goals and making 2-9 three-pointers (22.2 percent).  They also hit 7-10 of their second half free throws.
  • Haley DeSouza and Lori Wardynski led the Falcons in the second half with eight points each.
  • The Falcons finished the game with 26 points in the paint, 12 in the second half.
  • The Falcons also scored 10 points off of 14 Stout turnovers.
  • UWRF scored just six 2nd chance points in the game off of five offensive rebounds.
  • River Falls finished the game with 25 rebounds and seven steals.

  • Koop led the Falcons with 13 points off of 4-10 shooting from the field.  She also recorded six rebounds and two assists.
  • Wardynski finished the game with 12 points on the night.
  • UWRF made 20-53 shots (37.7 percent) from the floor in the loss. They went 5-19 from behind the arc (26.3 percent), and hit 12-17 free throws (70.6 percent).

THE OPPOSITION
  • Stout was led by Amber Fabeck with 17 points, hitting 6-11 from the floor, including 3-4 from three.
  • From the field, the Blue Devils made 26-62 (41.9 percent) and 11-22 (50 percent) from behind the arc.  They also shot 66.7 percent from the free throw line (10-15).
